Dead to Me

psy·chom·e·try

1. The power to divine facts concerning an object or person associated with it by touching said object.

2. For Simon Canderous: a giant pain in the neck.

Simon Canderous is blessed—or cursed—with the power of psychometry, and now he’s putting it to good use. After a life of petty crime (hey, it’s not his fault he has an preternaturally infallible sense of an object's worth) and watching his powers destroy any chance of a real relationship, he recently been recruited to work for the Department of Extraordinary Affairs—New York City’s underfunded and (mostly) secret government branch for paranormal investigation. It’s a job caught up in red tape, memos, and office politics, but its not just the paperwork that has Simon breathless…

When Simon spills his coffee on (well, actually through) the mysterious ghost of a dead woman who doesn’t know she’s dead, he and his mentor decide to track down her killers. But Simon’s not at all prepared for the strange and nefarious plot that unfolds before him, one involving the cultists’ rights movement, a large wooden fish, a killer bookcase, a map of Las Vegas, and the forces of Darkness, which kind of have a crush on him.
