Costumes?

posted by Jaye Wells at 11:00 AM

My costume this year will be the same one I've worn for the last six years--an old witch's hat. Most of my creative energy on Halloween is focused on Spawn's costume--Darth Vader this year-- and pumpkin carving. I long for the days when I had actual parties to attend on All Hallow's Eve. Like the time I dressed up as a Green M&M and everyone thought I was a scallion, but that's a story for another time.

If you're still trying to figure out your own costume, check out Check out Costume Idea Zone or this site for costumes for your four-legged children.

Inquiring minds want to know, what are you dressing up as for Halloween?

I went to a Halloween party last night, dressed as Ginny Weasley and everyone thought I was Harry or Hermione. Secondary characters are so under-appreciated.

I have a sort of goth zombie costume this year.

My favorite was when I was nine, and went as a large order of fries from Burger Chef. And somehow got beaten in a costume contest at the mall by a short barefoot kid with a hat on, who went as frodo Baggins. I was totally robbed. Second place, to a barefoot kid in a hat. Seriously.

When I read the blurb for Jordan Summer's Red, I decided I HAD to be Little Red Riding Hood after she gets attacked by the Big Bad Wolf. : )

I'm going as the Bride of Frankenstein (hubs is Frankenstein) and wearing my wedding dress :D

I'm just wearing a witches hat and black sweatshirt. I always make the kids costumes, so that is what I spend my time on. Oldest is going to be a ghost, the girl a princess, and the baby a kitty cat. They all picked easy things this year!!!

Stacia- you were totally robbed... Frodo didn't even wear a hat!!

Anyway, we dress up at work and I've coherced my entire group to dress up as super heroes and villains!! I am THE GREEN GEEK!!

My mommy made me a vinyl white skirt. I have green and white striped knee socks, green vinyl shoes (and the crayola 'green' mind you), crazy make-up, geek glasses, fake teeth and much other fun stuff to make me look outrageous. Pictures will so be posted on my bloggie. :)

Wait, we're supposed to...dress up? Crap.

Um, does attending the Rennaisance Faire in full gypsy regalia last month count? Yes?

I do not really dress up too much anymore. One of my favorite costumes was the year I went as Princess Leah...yes, with those ridiculous buns on the side of my head. It was fun though.

I'm leaning towards a gypsy.

I am with Carrie - I make the kids costumes and them run out of steam. So I go as the exhausted mom pulling a wagon or some such. I could always go in my full formal ladies renaissance faire costume, but that'd be too awkward to haul around kids in.

Rachel- isn't tin the traditional 10th anniversary gift?? *grins*

Ah, I dunno what I'm gonna do. We're not really doing anything so a couple friends are making costumes out of things they already have. My boyfriend is going to be Captain Pajama Shark, seen in this clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=32WjO7IiHpI
