| Best quote from a panel (so far): "See? You too can grow up to be a black man." -Samuel L. Jackson (an aside on Nick Fury in a panel about the upcoming The Spirit movie) Best moment: My signing at the Pocket Books booth went well, but the coolest moment was the surprise I got when I walked over to the Mystery Galaxy Bookstore booth... Several folks who hadn't been able to get a free copy of STAKED showed up to buy copies for me to sign. *That* was cool. Oh... and the WATCHMEN looks like it is going to be fantastic. |

Nice!
More news on Revamped?
I'm still working on the revisions. They are due back to my editor by Auguest 18th. As usual, Jen has done a great job of pointing out scenes that need fleshing out.
I still have trouble every now again remembering that readers don't know everything *I* know about Void City.
It also looks like one of the retooled scenes will allow readers to meet the infamous Captain Stacey of the VCPD "on panel" as it were.
He's a fun character and I've been wanting to work him in since I wrote STAKED, but I never really had a good pace fot him to pop up. When I realized that the fix for a particular bit of "fun" was to let Stacey handle it himself, I was all grins as I typed.
After all, in Void City, a demon wouldn't have to bring in re-enforcements from some outside group... he'd simply buy the SWAT team.
That's a big Con. I've been catching bits of it on DVR from the G-4 channel. Sounds like you had a good time. Meet anyone else cool?
I'm a big C. E. Murphy fan and getting to meet her was great. I also had a major "whoa cool" moment when Orson Scott Card mentioned, on one of the comic panels, that he doesn't think visually... Neither do I.
It's nice to know that I'm not alone. :)
But you didn't bring me back Hugh Jackman! And he was there! /pout
The Watchmen is going to be so amazingly awesome! :D
